The story behind...

With You

This is the first song that I wrote, ever. It means a lot to me for this reason and I was so happy when it was chosen to go on the Kings Square album! There is quite an interesting story behind it, which I am going to share with you now :)
I started writing this song when I was learning to play guitar, so using the most basic chords I knew, I started to put together a very basic song :)

I originally started writing this song in school when I had a bit of a crush on a certain boy ;P
I didn't want to date anyone at the time because I wanted to wait until I was older, so because I couldn't do anything about this crush, and I didn't want to tell anyone about it, I decided to write a song about it :)







Now as you can imagine, I was pretty upset that I couldn't let this boy know that I really liked him! I  would think about him all the time and do anything to see him or be around him and it started to drive me a little bit crazy!
So I did what I always do when I am having a difficult time. I went to God. I poured my heart out and told him all about it! This helped a lot as I started to realize that it was not the right time for me to have boyfriend. I was still young and still learning who I was and having a boyfriend would probably do more damage than good. So I stuck with God and didn't do anything about my crush and one day my love song evolved into a worship song :)

4 Years Later...
So 4 years after writing this song, it was chosen to be on our very first album!
The other rather amusing thing is, that boy I had a crush on..

Samuel Jake Beard. The most amazing person ever!! You were so worth they wait because I have had the most amazing year (and a half) with you. And I look forward to many, many more! I love you xxx
